Extraordinary Loser: Diary of a Reincarnated S-Rank Sorcerer is an isekai with a strong comedic core, where the hero gains rare magical powers, but manages to constantly find himself in situations that look like failures. He is reborn as a high-ranking sorcerer and could easily become a legend, but his social skills, bad luck and tendency to jump to the wrong conclusions turn any mission into chaos. The diary format adds a special intonation, the hero honestly records his attempts to be cool, his mistakes and his strange victories that happen contrary to logic. The series plays on the fact that those around him see him as a frightening genius, but inside he is an alarmist who is simply trying to survive and not reveal how little he understands. Gradually the story becomes warmer, because his failures help him remain humane, not arrogant and support others who are just as lost. There are a lot of magical duels, unusual spells, friendships with monsters, conflicts with arrogant heroes and unexpected turns where he accidentally saves the city, just trying to find a way out of another awkward situation. This anime is for those who love a strong but funny main character and stories where victory always comes in an unconventional way.
